Looks like we’ll have our first significant rainfall since December today and tomorrow. HSC and TWC would like to invite everyone to help with a Hydro-Watch. This simply means keeping an eye on streams and culverts around your specific areas. If you can, please take a picture of your nearby stream or drainage areas before the rain starts. And then, if you ever see the area not draining, or not keeping up with the rain, then take another picture of how it’s backing up. You can upload those photos to HSC Hydro-Watch page or email them to info@hainesscience.org. This will help us identify where problem areas are and how we can fix them.
Note: Just a reminder, this storm is nothing compared to last December’s event, but it is the first significant rain since then. Please keep a careful eye on previously washed out and existing slide areas. There is likely some mud and debris to be adjusting to new normals.
